Am I covered for a car accident if I had insurance at the time but I don't anymore?

Best information and tips about injury claim car accident, automobile accident lawyers and personal injuries claim
I was involved in an non-collision accident with a city bus in which the bus had to break suddenly and a passenger may have been injured in a fall within. The fault is in a grey area, but the individual’s lawyer seems to think they have the benefit of the doubt. This was years ago and I don’t have car insurance anymore. Will my insurance cover the accident since I was paying for it at the time or will I be considered uninsured?

Yes, because the insurance covers you for the time that you were paying your premium, hence…you were insured. If your premium was paid, and you were in an accident, you were insured.
Most commonly these days, someone will let their insurance lapse for whatever reason….then get in an accident. At that point, the insurance company was not covering them anymore, therefore, they were uninsured.
The only grey area I see is what Statue of Limitations may apply. You say this was years ago. This makes me wonder if the accident needed to be paid on in a certain amount of time.
It will never the less take some arguing on your part to make them pay, and you may have to get a lawyer to make it happen. I mean…we are talking about an insurance company here!
If they aren’t getting any money from you anymore, why pay for something easily?
I know this is getting way in depth here, but if you want to save yourself some dough with the lawyer that you’ll probably need, there is usually free legal services provided through the state in which you live in. I had a friend do that a while back, and it worked great!
Best of luck!
