I was involved in a rear end collision where passengers were injured.
I am pretty sure the victims will sue me since they have a lawyer, and my insurance will not cover me because there was a lapse in the policy.

i have a joint savings account with family members as beneficiaries, in case i were to die suddenly, they would have access to the account and vice versa.
my concern is can i be sued for that money?

You can be sued for damages and medical costs, regardless of how much money you have or don’t have.

As an uninsured motorist, any assets that you own, such as money, property etc, can become part of a lawsuit. Time to make the money disappear until this crisis is over. My suggestion is to withdraw the money in the form of a check, made payable to you and put it some place for safe keeping. File bankruptcy if the situation gets nasty.

Also, you need to purchase some auto insurance and pay attention while you are driving.

You never said if you rear ended someone , or they rear ended you. If you rear ended them then there is almost a 100% chance it will be your fault. You are about to learn a costly lesson.

Each passenger can sue you for their medical bills, lost wages and pain/suffering. Just because you failed to pay your insurance premium is not an excuse, and now you will be paying the price.

Any assets you have "could" be seized. They can also try and garnish any wages, current or future.

            good luck
