What kind of gift do you give a person who is totally paralyzed?
My cousin was involved in motor vehicle accident last year in Dec 2008. He was on his way home from Colorado to New Mexico bringing home Christmas gifts to the family when he fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the road causing himself to run off the road injuring himself only…He has been emotionally dealing with being totally paralyzed from it but as a dear loving cousin, I want him to receive a special gift…but I have no idea what to give him since now he is totally paralyzed…I would appreciate your help…please help!!!…We love him so much!!!
He is able to listen and understand…He is still able to communicate with us thankfully through reading his lips and seeing his eyes water when he feels down and upset…He just cant move.
You all have great ideas..some I have thought of(an audio book, a throw blanket he can cuddle with his face, a spirit candle, a bible, a funny DVD or an inspirational CD) but I really like the idea of being there reading him a good story…Thank you again sooooo much to everyone!!! With love, Me :O)

I was involved in a motor vehicle accident about 2 years ago and have a spinal cord injury that made me a paraplegic for now. I have been through rehab and in the hospital they gave me bachlophen because it helps with spasms in which I can’t control in my legs, and my legs are pretty strong so they are pretty annoying spasms. But I was taking Bacholophen I was taking was 60 mg and doing hardly anything except put me to sleep, so I stop taking it. I just got another back surgery and the nurse suggested Valium for spasms, and it works great, the only thing is, is that is valium so I’m not always in my right state of mind and I don’t want to escape reality just to not have leg spasms, does anyone know of any drugs or exercises to help control spasms that don’t have a lot of side effects. I’ve gone from one extreme to another, but now Valium I heard is not such a good thing to be on all the time. Can anyone help?
Right now I’m taking 5 mg in the morning and 2.5 at noon and 2.5 mg at night, so 10mg total per day. Is that alot?

On Dec.2, 2010 I was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The other driver was at fault. It has taken his insurance company five weeks to settle this and make me and unfair offer. I have called them numerous times within this five week period checking on the status of my claim and happy reminding them that I am in a rental car that they will have to reimburse me for (hoping that this would help them speed up the process). Well today they called and made a lowball offer (1300 dollars lower than my cars retail value in my area) and when I refused their offer and sent documentation of my results, the claims woman told me that she will try to have another offer by tomorrow and that she will only pay for the rental for three more days. Can they do that? I mean it was their company who took 5 weeks to even submit to me an offer.

Roughy 1.5 years ago I was involved involved in a Motor Vehicle accident in which I was a passenger.
- fractured my neck in two spots.. (c7 and c3)
- suffered whiplash (of course)

I was lucky enough that I didnt need a halo. It’s a freind that was driving… I wouldn’t say a close friend but a friend to say the least. Anyways… its now been 1.5 years and I still continue to have problems with my neck which include and documented by my family doctor:
- continuously sore
- cracking that hurts a lot
- little to no sleep at night (from turning over from being sore on one side)
- cant stare and watch a movie or do work on computer without my neck getting stiff…

——Ive done a number of physiotherapy sessions as put on by insurance company…

My parents are worried that my problems can persist into my future and I may need medical attention (and to tell you the truth, I am as well.). What are the time restraints for suing my friends insurance company? Also, would it be worth the matter of suing? I don’t have a clue of how much I would get if any at all…. my family doctor said I dont have a choice and I must go through with it but im having doubts…

any advice I really appreciate…

I have tried so hard to find this answer…what is the movie about a boy that has memory loss after his mother dies of a motor vehicle accident…he lives in a orphanage or a mental institution and he meets a girl there and they fall in love and as the movie goes on he starts to remember things about his past….he has friends there and they have a like hang out place in an attic or something and they are not supposed to be up there and they kid in the wheelchair gets hurt or something but, at the end of the move after he remembers what happened to his mom they move him to a new place and the last scene of the move is of the girlfriend coming to see him and knocks on the door of his new room and he incites her and he remembers who she is after all he has been through

My daughter was hurt in an motor vehicle accident on febuaury 26th of this year and the guy that hit us passed away. Her ICU bill is 5,000 and he only had 25/50. He has no accetts and I only had 20/40 in under insured. I feel that this is not fair and some one should have to help with the bills. She was in a wheel chair for a while and is now starting to walk. She has damage to her back that will NEVER heal and the ,000 does not even cover the other 3 times she was hospitalized. What can I do?
HE HAS NOTHING NO STOCKS…NO CARS NOTHING…. I have insurance but like I said it only covers ,00 and his insurance notified me that he only has ,00 dollars worth of coverage….I have no idea what to do..
Also the accident was his fault he crossed over the lines and was wasted or something…. I had no clue that you could get stuck like this my daughter has to suffer…. it so aint fair and as many of you are saying you should of had more coverage but I am disabled and have a limited income so more coverage is more money.

Motor vehicle accident left me with an orbital blow out fracture. My eyeball was bulging out over my cheekbone and a fractured maxillary bone. Plastic surgeon replaced eyeball back into its socket without repairing my maxillary bone and then stitched my eyelids closed for 2 days. His operative report states that when I left the OR my vision was grossly intact. If I had been drugged into a comatose state and upon leaving the OR I was still drugged how could he tell that my vision was fine?

Hi there, my cousin was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Illinois where a tow truck driver stole a number of articles from his car. But the tow truck company is saying they’re not liable for theft since they hire "independant contractors" and not direct employees.

If the property (namely the tow truck is owned by the company it self) can he sue the tow company for negligence since they have a duty to know where their property is and what its being used for?

He never hired them in the first place…complicated issue. Plus I’m a house wife not a lawer and need an understanding of how this stuff works.
