I was hit by somebody while driving home from work on Saturday 04/24. A police report was filed, the other driver said he ws sorry and admitted it was his fault. I called my insurance company immedietly and gave them all the info. Both copanys have called me for a state ment since then. My point is that my car is at the collision center and I have no transportation to work. Is it the other partys responsibility to provide that for me because it is not on my coverage. I explained to them today that I have no way of getting to work and they said they have not yet even seen the police report. How long do I have to wait before I get a rental, should I just pay for one myself and hope to get reimbursed or should I claim loss of wages because I cant get to work? and do I need an attorney? how long does this process take?
I live far from work and would not mind taking a bus but I would have to take 2 of them and that would take up to much time. Isnt there a law on how long an insurance company can take on making a decision?? Im in FL which is no fault I think.
