Best information and tips about injury claim car accident, automobile accident lawyers and personal injuries claim
After auto accident settlement for 2 months already, lawyer had not really updated me why the hospital bills were not taken care of. Lawyer is unreachable. My hospital bills are now in collection. I have already received ,000 pocket money for my settlement, but I am still due a different of ,500 but have not received yet. What should I do? Should I wait for the lawyer to take care of the hospital bills and for how long should I wait? Should I be able to receive the difference yet or I have to wait until the hospital bills are taken care of? Thanks.

Send a letter to you lawyer, certified with return receipt so you can prove when he got it, list all your questions in aclear manner and give a date you wish to hear from him by (generally you give a 10 day window) if you do not hear back from him, contact the bar association in your state.

Keep in mind that even if you have an attorney and are represented by them the bills are for services that were performed on you, and ultimately they are your financial responsibility until the matter is resolved. They are not going to hold off on payment until you get a settlement. I would make some kind of payment arrangements with the hospital and start paying on the bills to keep from being taken to collections. They can tag your credit, get a court judgement against you and even garnish your wages for the money if they want to.
As far as the attorney goes, maybe you should go to his office directly and let the secretary know you’ve been waiting for a return call and you need some answers from someone. Make sure he’s still in business and still working on the case.
