My family and I were in a minor car accident we have $22K+ in med bills how much settlement should we expect?

The party who hit our vehicle, hit us from behind. He was sited as "at fault" by the police officer who responded to the emergency call.
There were 4 of us in the car at the time… Myself, my two kids and my nephew.
Thankfully the damages to my vehicle were fairly inexpensive (0 to fix the rear bumper where I was hit from behind) however the kids immediately complained of being hurt and were transported to the local Children’s Hospital from the scene of the accident.
After almost 3 months of going the Chiropractor we have now completed our treatment and the final totals of our medical expenses are listed as follows:
Myself ,440 Chiro + 0 ER = ,340
Kid #1 ,440 Chiro + ,100 ER = ,540
Kid #2 ,700 Chiro + 0 ER = ,500
TOTAL ,380
Our lawyer (who has been horrible to work with) is asking for ,000 A PIECE, however he has informed me that we won’t recieve that amount totally.
How much can I realistically expect and how long should it take?
I’VE READ ALOT OF POST ON HERE AND I’D LIKE TO KNOW ARE THERE ANY INSTANCES WHERE THIS PROCESS ISN’T AS LENGTHY? ARE THEY PEOPLE WHO’VE HAD SATISFACTORY EXPERIENCES WITH THESE SETTLEMENTS – PERHAPS IN JUST A FEW WEEKS?

I am surprised that the attorney took your case as the damages to your vehicle were only $600. You will not get $22,380 from the insurance company. They possibly will cover your ER bills, but that would be it. If it goes to a jury trial, they will show photos of the damage to your vehicle, which will hurt the case due to it being a minor impact. I would drop the attorney and try and settle with the insurance company and HOPE that your own health insurance pays for all of the bills. Good luck!

I won’t even attempt to guess at how much you’ll receive. However, the litigation process can be a lengthy process. It could take several months.

wow.. it will be a GREAT DAY if insurance even pays all your medical bills. Seriously.. i hope your prepared.
If it really took this much treatment you and your family have some unrelated issues because it just simply isn’t possible. I hate to be rude.. but they probably laughed when they saw your bills and what the damage was. You must have some pre-existing issues and unfortunately a doctor who probably wanted to make you treat and treat so he could see the big bucks.
That is an absolutely ridiculous amount of treatment for a replaced bumper cover. Im really not trying to be rude but there is no way you are getting more then your medical bills and again.. that would be a GREAT day.

You should ask for full amount from them as it was their fault and all in your family are in problem due to it.
