this attorney has been handleling my case ,it was a car accident.he has taken well over 2yrs.to resolve this case and still nothing on top off that i received a letter from the court house stating that I did not show up to a hearing and that they are going to rule in the other parties behalf.

Why is the court sending correspondence directly to you and not your attorney? This is not normally done in civil matters unless the attorney has withdrawn from the case by filing a motion with the court, which you would have received notice of by the court. If your attorney properly withdrew from your case, he no longer represented you. You would have had to attend all hearings, receive notifications directly from the court for them, etc. Hope this helps.

Call your state’s Bar Association. It would be like the Illinois Bar Association or something. They will tell you how to proceed. They police the lawyers and they don’t want bad ones out there either.
