Awhile ago I was involved in a three car crash. I was traveling east bound and approached an intersection and crossed after it went green. A car traveling north hits my passenger side and spins my car into traffic going west bound and my backend gets hit from on coming traffic. My girlfriend was in the passenger seat when this happened. A witness going southbound calls the police and ambulence for us. After I gave my statement to the officer he lets me go with my girlfriend to the hospital. She gave her statement later at the hospital. Everything was ok until I saw the police report later saying I was at fault because the individual in the third car that my backend hit said I ran the light while she was traveling west bound opposite of me. The person that hits me said he was going on his green. Now I was wondering why thier statements weight more then that of me and my girlfriends when we both stated going on the green. The report didn’t even have the statement of the witness that stopped to call for us because I saw the officer talk to him and wrote his name down. Should I even bother getting an attorney? My girlfriends medical bills total over 000 and she doesn’t have health insurance. Can she sue me? Or am I screwed because the guy that hit me is filing damage claims agaisnt me too. I do have car insurance and have already reported this to them. Thanks in advance for any help.

I was involved in an non-collision accident with a city bus in which the bus had to break suddenly and a passenger may have been injured in a fall within. The fault is in a grey area, but the individual’s lawyer seems to think they have the benefit of the doubt. This was years ago and I don’t have car insurance anymore. Will my insurance cover the accident since I was paying for it at the time or will I be considered uninsured?

I was involved in a hit-and-run two years ago. I was sitting behind a stopped car waiting to turn left, and was rear-ended by a Jeep going well over the speed limit. I was 6 months pregnant at the time. The guy fled the scene, but I took his license plate and knew him because he was my neighbor. I went to the hospital because the baby became real active, and I bruised my hips and the back of my head. They didn’t really do anything for me, but checked out the baby and everything turned out fine. My car was totaled and my back hurt. I had later went to doctors for orthopedic and obstetrician care which PIP paid for, nothing too serious. I obtained a lawyer immediately. They caught the guy two weeks later and charged him. Turns out he was driving on revoked license. My lawyer tried to settle with Geico (my insurance). They uninsured driver’s wife had Maryland Auto Insurance Fund which is car insurance for driver’s with bad driving records. Geico offered 00, then 00. After about a year, my lawyer gave my account to another lawyer. I had to go through the whole spiel, telling them what happened and all. After a year with them, Geico has offered 00, and now 00 for pain and suffering. Whatever I settle on, my lawyer gets 33.13%. My lawyer and Geico adjuster are playing phone tag. I’m not happy w/my lawyer because they never call me to inform me of anything…I have to. I was pregnant during the accident and couldn’t enjoy the remainder of my pregnancy because of fear something might not be right with my baby…my previous was a miscarriage. I couldn’t get the right care (x-rays, cat scans, etc.) because of the baby coming first. The problem here is that I didn’t ask for this lawyer and want better results. The lawyer keeps talking me out of settling for 00, promising he can get me more. The thing is if he files suit, no matter what their 33.13% goes to 40%. Should I settle or move on to another lawyer, and if I do settle, would I have to pay the previous lawyer?

I hit a parked car while making a U Turn a few months back. I was NOT filed a ticket, i called my insurance company and they handeled the case with the other parties, then a few days later i got a call from the other parties telling me they wanted more money then the car insurance was giving them…they eventually sued me for 1500 in small claims, they didint show up so the case was dropped. Eventually i got a summons in the mail saying that their insurance company is suing me on behalf of them for 3700! My insurance company appointed me a good lawyer from what i read online but my question is that if we do loose the case will i have to pay the 3700 or will my insurance…this is happening in illinois by the way and it is in small claims court.

I was a passenger in a limo and we got into a bad crash, my bills are huge. It turns out the company doesn’t have insurance (it is illegal) and my lawyer wants me to sue my own insurance instead of suing the owners of the company personally and putting a lean against their property. What should I do?

I have wonderful medical insurance and they have covered a great deal but there is a lot that is remaining and that I lost personally (wages, etc). I personally think that the lawyer is in it for themselves (ie suing my car insurance will give them the money a lot faster). But I am certainly no legal professional

Last Wednesday i was in a scar accident where a man ran the red light and hit my car which sent my car swerving into the opposite side of the road where i was struck by two other cars totaling my car. i was driving a hyundai accent 03, i had jus got the car two months ago so i still owe like 8 grand on it, i had full coverage and the other 3 cars involved also had car insurance. so my question is what do i do next i already contacted my insurance company and got the police report. i got a rental through my insurance company i just dont know what to do from here i need some help should i get a lawyer? Contact his insurance company? i also hurt my neck, back and right side of my body. please give me some advice im only 20 years old and im stressing out cause this is effecting my job and my classes at school.

I have praetorian car insurance and they only cover bodily insurance. The guy that hit my car…his insurance has been calling me telling me i need to pay almost 4000 for the incident. I tried calling my insurance, lawyers etc., and first was told I’m not responsible but called my insurance again and they told me i have to pay. I don’t have money to pay for a lawyer and REALLY NEED TO KNOW. If i was hit by the car do i really have to pay the claim his insurance company is hunting my down for? Please help…they have been threatening to suspend my license. Please PLEASE HELP!

Ok so i got into a car accident in JUanuary. It was 7am and i was heading tos chool.Some one hit me fromthe back! and pushed be to the other side of the intersection,causing me to hit two trucks and a semi that contained gas. My honda is WRECKED, luckily i was ok and walked away with a couple scratches. i got a call last night from the lady that hit me insurance co. they said that she was 70% at fault and i had the 30%.
they said because
1. i had no lights on in the morning and it was extremely foggy.
2. The speed limit was 45 and i was going approx. 40.. but that was to fast according to them for the bad weather!
I dont argree with this whats so ever and i have NOOOO clue about getting a lawyer or anything. im a college student and i really cant afford to get blamed.

I was in a car accident this morning some guy hit me from behind. I didn’t need an ambulance at the time but i did report some pain I was having to the officer. A few hours later I went to the hospital. My right shoulder blade,neck,jaw,and even my ear hurt. They said that they make my car insurance pay 80% of the bill. Which my insurance will battle it with the guys insurance that was at fault. However I have to pay the other 20%. And what about my follow up with the doctor in a few days. Do i have to pay? If I get a lawyer would I get my money back?
