I was a backseat passenger in another person’s car 3 weeks ago, when the accident happened. The driver of the car I was in was not at fault, however the accident happened in Florida which is a "No Fault State" anyway. The problem is that I am an adult, without a car, without car insurance and do not drive because I have panic attacks so I only have a restricted license (permit). In the state of Florida as I understand it, if a person is involved in an auto accident then their insurance or a person’s auto insurance that they live with is required to pay the medical bills. I am seeing a chiropractor since the accident and have x-rays showing that I have whiplash so the treatments are important. However I have no way to pay them since I do not have car insurance of my own or live with anyone who does. Its just my two daughters and I. Does anyone have any advise on what to do in a case like this and is there anything that an attorney can even do in a case like this? At this point, I am not interested in anything, except making sure my medical bills incurred due to the accident, are paid for, as I have to be seen 3 times a week.

I was driving on the highway tonight in the rain and when I switched lanes I lost traction and slipped to the right and hit a car that was in the middle lane. My car regained control, but the civic spun out 180 degrees and slammed into the railing. The passenger side wouldn’t open as I tried to help the lady open the door. Everyone was okay. There was I think a six year old girl and a baby in the back…Trust me I feel like a total *** and probably will never switch lanes in the rain again..The ambulance came, but everything checked out and everyone was okay, no treatment, but as I peeked into the ambulance some paper work was being done. Now I’m afraid I’ll be sued eventually because this happened to a friend of mine. He got into an accident and everyone said they were fine, accident was over, everyone went home. Two weeks later he receives a bill for ,000 in medical bills and more than ,000 went up on his car insurance. I’m not too sure on how damaged the civic was, but the lady insisted her car needed to be towed. It looked not too bad, but I’m not sure if it was able to start. She got into the tow truck and they left after the police did the accident report. My major concern is even though that everyone was okay, she may find some way to sue me on medical bills for the baby. Aftershock damage or what not. Can this happen? If so..would anyone know any good lawyers? I live in nyc…any help would be appreciated please. thanks.

My car has insurance, but I’m not on it. Its actually my dads girlfriends and so is the title of the vehicle. No my names is not on either one. Also I don’t have full coverage. Just wondering if anyone knows what kind of lawyer I need to find to fight this kind of case IF I am sued so that my rates won’t go up..if that’s even possible. I’m young and don’t have too much money, but either I try to fight this to keep the same rates or I lose my car. I talked to the police officer and I think he put that I just slipped after changing lanes, no fault accident?

Is there penalties in the state of Louisiana for a conflict of interest with an attorney who handled a case before that accepted a case to against you?

The reason I’m asking is because a nosey attorney who knows personal information with a family and a minor client who was fired a long time ago is handling a car insurance case and made a family lose 2 attorneys due to personal political smear because the attorney given this car accident case failed to represent a innocent victim 7 years ago. He was a free legal aid attorney , but he was terminated ,and fired.
Now he got hired onto this so call disguised high power law firm and is deliberately using stall tactics so a family won‘t be able to get claims from a car wreck rear-end collision ,.collision but recently found out .
This attorney who isn’t suppose to be handling any case with this family is pursuing under conflict of interest which is causing severe mental aguish.
This family was rear-ended by a school teacher who drives a hummer ,and hurt two elderly disabled people who just went to a grocery store.

I need advice so I can help this family to a path where they can over come this situation!

To make a long story short, my fiancee was in a major car accident three days ago and had to undergo 7 hours of surgery because she broke both her legs, right knee cap, and right ankle. They had to use rods and pins to fix her. She also broke 2 bones in her vertebra and has to get a halo put on for a month or two. The doc said she should regain full function again with time and physical therapy. She is in ICU for the 3rd night and is expected to be there for another 3-4 days.

The other group was at fault, I haven’t heard anything from their insurance. (My fiancee’s mom and dad are getting her a lawyer and handling all the insurance stuff). I was wondering, since most people in IL only carry 0,000 bodily injury with their car insurance, what happens when that 0,000 is used up with the medical bills? What happens to the rest of the medical bills? Will there health insurance cover my fiancee? Also, what about the physical therapy that she will need after she is out of the hospital? What about her lost wages and a new car that was totaled in the accident? Who will pay for her pain and suffering? Who’s going to cover all these things, because I’m am sure the 0,000 (if that’s their amount) is hardly going to even cover her 1st day at the hospital.

it has been months since the accident… i have already been cleared from my doctor to work… so i have received my last lost wages check. i am finishing up my last chiropractor appointments… so i should be ready to begin my settlement process soon

i was in a legit accident… my first… i don’t want to be used by the insurance company… i want them to give me what i deserve due to my inconveniences not my greediness

I was in an auto accident in VA. I was the passenger of the vehicle and the person t-boned the entire side of the vehicle I was in. The person that hit us was at fault and received a ticket. They didn’t have car insurance so my girlfriend’s car insurance is paying for everything. I was rushed to the ER and injured my neck, shoulder, chest, back and wrist. I am currently going to PT and OT. The physical therapist said I have musculoskeletal injuries. I have to take 4 different meds a day and I have chest pain several times a day. The current (some) bills and lost wages are over 6k as of right now and my physician says I will be in PT for at least another month. I haven’t been able to work my pt job because of the type of work I do there but I have been able to go to my full time job. How much should I expect for pain and suffering. I can’t even lift a bag of groceries now because my wrist hurts so badly. I don’t want to get a lawyer since they take all the money.
The insurance company already told me they are going to pay for my lost wages.

My son was in an accident with his girlfriend in December of 08
Some idiot lost his Christmas tree of his vehicle, leaving it in the middle of the road
Sons girlfriend was driving her car, my son was in the passenger seat
Son had some injuries, bleeding, cat scans 4 to be exact and several office visits
Our medical insurance was billed roughly 10,000.00
Girlfriends car insurance was in her grandmothers name and has no medical coverage just liability
None of us want to sue the girlfriend
How can I get the insurance company to pay the medical bills and be done with this mess
I have spoke to a lawyer but he said since she had no medical coverage the insurance will not have to cover the medical cost
and we will have to sue the girlfriend to get the uninsured motorist claim
also I was told that sooner or later our health insurance is going to request to be reimbursed for the cost of the related medical bills in which was paid out for this auto accident
I worried that if i say to heck with it all and take no settlement the later down the road I will be left holding this
but then i am also concerned that if i take what ever they offer it may not be enough to cover all of his medical bills
If I hire a lawyer then I will have to sue the girlfriend which is going to be my daughter in law:(
What do i do???
